- How Counseling Became My Saving Grace and Passion -
I experienced a significant trauma in high school that completely altered the course of my life. Before that, anxiety wasn’t something I thought much about. But from that point on, it became a persistent presence in my daily experience.
The joy I once felt as a passionate teen was taken from me, and I didn’t know how to regain control. Then, a friend encouraged me to try therapy. Through individual counseling, I learned how to process, overcome, and cope with my experience. I discovered that it was possible to live a life separate from anxiety and reclaim my sense of self. This transformative journey inspired me to dedicate my life to helping others find their own path forward.
Therapeutic Approach
Hi, I’m Stephanie, a Licensed Professional Counselor, Nationally Certified Counselor, and the proud founder of Arabella Counseling. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing just how complex and tender the human experience can be. I work primarily with women and couples who are ready for something to change. Maybe you’ve spent years carrying experiences that still shape how you see yourself, your relationships, or your future. You’ve learned to cope, manage the symptoms, keep going, and hold everything together. But lately, something in you has been longing for more. You’re beginning to believe that a different way of living, relating, and experiencing the world is possible.
Through our work, you’ll begin to break those long-standing, stubborn cycles. You’ll deepen your understanding of yourself, move from awareness to action, and find the courage to make the hard choices that lead to real change. Authenticity is at the heart of my work. I believe healing requires a space where you can be honest, fully seen, and free from the pressure to pretend that everything is fine.
Additionally, working with couples is something I hold especially dear. As a Gottman Certified Therapist, I’m passionate about helping couples understand their patterns, communicate more honestly, repair what has been hurt, and find their way back to one another.
Healing isn’t about returning to who you were. It’s about discovering who you are becoming. There is life beyond survival. There is freedom beyond old patterns. And there is a version of your story that has not been written yet.
