Kennisya Adams, M.A., LPC

- You can fall, but you can also rise -

Hi, I’m Kennisya. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor who is passionate about walking alongside adults, teens, children, families, and couples as they navigate life’s challenges, better understand their stories, and move toward healing. I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals from many different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, and I understand that transformative care requires more than surface-level connection. It requires trust, understanding, and a space where you feel safe to show up as your authentic self. I strive to create an environment where you feel seen, heard, and supported through a culturally responsive and emotionally aware lens. Therapy should never be a one-size-fits-all approach. I believe your story is unique, and the work we do together should honor your experiences, strengths, and the path you’re on.

Therapeutic Approach

My approach to therapy is warm, practical, and collaborative. I believe therapy is not just about talking through challenges, but also about gaining a deeper understanding of yourself, learning tools that support growth, and creating lasting change.

I incorporate practical tools, education, and compassionate support to help clients better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and develop healthier ways of coping. For those who desire it, I also integrate faith-based principles into therapy to support a more holistic approach to healing.

I earned my Master’s degree in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling from Lamar University. I believe meaningful change happens when people feel safe, understood, and encouraged.
